Level 2 Network Technician
The Network Technician will join our talented IT Services team within the IT Outlet. The primary responsibility of this position is to perform network functions to configure, maintain, and support end users both externally and internally. Other duties include providing customer support, staying involved with trends in networking, and working towards obtaining industry specific certifications.
Duties of the position include but are not limited to:
- Troubleshooting escalated network trouble tickets
- Installation and configuration of network equipment, including routers, firewalls, switches, access points, and other networking devices.
- Maintain, track and report project status and metrics.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Willing to learn the most up-to-date IT methods.
- Follow helpdesk/desktop support best practices for troubleshooting and documenting tickets.
- Prior knowledge to firewalls (Sonicwall,Fortinet, Cisco)
- Field work to fulfill customers needs.
- Some travel required.
Required Qualifications:
- Demonstrated knowledge of current products and services available and applicable to LAN/WAN and data communications systems.
- Demonstrated knowledge of computing systems, electronics and software development required to design, manage, and trouble-shoot high performance network applications.
- Demonstrated experience in client-server network applications.
- Ability to work effectively with personnel on all levels.
Education:
- Associates degree in networking or related field
Experience:
- Two years+ of Networking
